Our vision is simple. We believe in protecting our natural environment, building a place that will never go out of style, and that our way of life begins and ends on the porch. Amelia Island has been a cherished place for generations, and we welcome you to explore our island within Amelia Island. From our partnership with Southern Living to our community of neighbors, it’s truly a special place. Welcome to a new, old-fashioned way of living.
When we set out to create legacy properties for you and your family, we first prioritized protecting the land.
We built Crane Island to complement the land treasure, organizing the properties to reflect the views, whether that’s of the marsh, the river, the forest, or the park.
As a team, we continually work together to save our trees, preserve the land, and honor history.
From the porch rail detail on the house to the haint blue on the ceiling to the dog trot entryways, the architecture is rich in Lowcountry culture and steeped in stories of simpler times.
With a beautiful blend of Old Fernandina, the Sea Island Chain, and even the heritage from Nantucket, we bring low country vernacular to every detail of each home.
Our owners are attracted not just to the land and the homes but also to a way of life that celebrates what matters most.
Whether it’s in the River House at one of our signature gatherings or on a walk with your dog in Alice Park, we’ll guarantee you’ll be a guest for 8.5 seconds.
We’re proud to partner with Southern Living to create inspirational properties since 2019.
Not only did we team up to inspire our development, but we also had the exclusive opportunity to offer Southern Living Idea Houses, the pinnacle of Southern home inspiration.
This partnership brings an ecosystem of architects, designers, and trade partners, all to support timeless Southern design.
With a desire to create a unique place to call home, two longtime friends and business executives, Mr. Saad Wallan and Mr. Jack Healan Jr., cast the vision for what we see on Crane Island today.
To build out the vision, the Development Team brought the multi-decade experience of Jack Healan III and John A Hillman to round out the team. Their combined operational experience accounts for thousands of homesites, iconic amenity development, custom builder programs, brokerage, and branding.
Through it all, the Development Team anchored every decision in the original vision: to create legacy properties and a rich community known for its commitment to the natural environment, historic architecture, and the highest quality of life.

This began with the Land Plan and Architectural Guidelines by the immensely talented Historical Concepts. We couldn’t be more proud of the talent, wisdom, and passion of the below team of collaborators.

make memories on or off the island
Crane Island's geography is special. Take the boat out with the grandkids, enjoy Pilates in the park, or spend time with your new lifelong friends at our community events.
Are you itching to golf or join a club? With a short bike or car ride over the creek to the historic downtown of Amelia Island, you can have all that and your dinner out, too.
